In this Life Together Digest, the Rev. Dr. Matthew C. Harrison, president of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS), encourages the church to take time to celebrate its pastors, deaconesses, teachers and other rostered workers throughout the year. “It’s not easy working for the church many times. We’re all sinners,” Harrison said. “But your teachers … and pastors and directors of various ministries will all appreciate so much your demonstrations of love. Please reach out to them in a wonderful way and use these dates to do it.” Learn more about church worker appreciation at reporter.lcms.org/2024/a-year-church-worker-appreciation/, and view this month’s Life Together Digest at https://mailchi.mp/lcms/life-together...

Serenity Michelle Marie Migyanko was adopted on September 20, 2024 by John and Megan Migyanko. Thank you for the many prayers, love, and support as the family went through this process for the past two years. Serenity celebrated her baptism on September 21st with church friends and family. It serves as a great reminder that we are all adopted into God’s family. May God grant many faithful years and continue to bless this family.
Thirteenth Annual "Adopt a Grandparent"
During the Holiday season, I enjoy brightening the lives of residents in local assisted living and nursing home facilities in Allegheny County. Many of these people have few, if any, visitors and receive little, if anything, during the Holidays. Last year, through the generosity of local businesses and friends, I helped deliver over 1000 gifts to residents of John J Kane Regional Hospital, Scott Twp and McKeesport, and several other nursing and assisted-living facilities. This year I hope to help deliver 1000 + gifts again.
