Sunday School News

The children celebrated Jesus' birthday at the Sunday School Christmas Party on Dec. 18. During the party we read the Christmas Story, enjoyed a beautiful cake depicting the Nativity Scene, and did a craft in which the children recorded times when they have done something kind to one another. After the party, Mark Killinger led the class in several verses of "O Come Little Children" during the second service. (picture below)

Also, if you missed it, Tess Carter's wonderful video production of the SS Christmas program, which was played after both services, is available on the Zion web site at: https://youtu.be/yC7vtfg-45U

The children signed Christmas cards for Zion's shut-ins, hopefully bringing some joy to those who may not be able to get out to see friends and relatives.

January 2023 brings the start of Enduring Faith Unit 5 from CPH. On Jan. 8 we begin the series "God Leads His Nation", continuing our study of the Old Testament. The unit picks up during the exodus and continues through the building of Solomon’s temple.

We also want to welcome a new substitute teacher, Megan Migyanko, who will be available to sub in all three grade levels. Thank you Megan!

Zion Lutheran Church
The heart and soul of our worship is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We believe God comes to us in worship to forgive our sins, strengthen our faith, and equip us for the challenges and opportunities for the week ahead. Our worship times are 8:00 and 10:30 on Sunday mornings with a Bible Study for adults and Sunday School for children of all ages at 9:30. The Lord’s Supper is celebrated at both services every week. Sunday morning worship is the highlight of the week at Zion Lutheran Church!!! We hope you will be able to join us! Each Wednesday this year (2014), we also have a 7:00 p.m. service. This service is shorter than our weekend service, in order to accommodate families with young children. If you have any questions about our worship, please e-mail or call our Pastor: pastor@zlcb.org 412-667-0967
