Sunday School News

"Return to the Lord" Lenten calendars were sent home with parents and/or children beginning on February 19. If your family does not have one yet, please let us know and one will be provided. Parents, please help your children proceed through the daily activities shown in the calendar.

During April, Sunday School classes will be going through Enduring Faith

Unit 5: Lesson 13, "The Wise King-Solomon Prays for Wisdom"; Lesson 14, "The Unwise Wise King-Solomon Builds the Temple"; Unit 6: Lesson 1, "Provided-For Prophet-God Provides for Elijah"; and Lesson 2, "Consuming Fire-Elijah and the Prophets of Baal". There will be no Sunday School on Easter Day, April 9, but the children are encouraged to partake in the Easter Breakfast where all attending children will receive a "He Lives" sticker craft to work on during breakfast.

We would like to announce that Pam Trentini has volunteered to take over the nursery roll duties from Debbie LaJeunesse. Debbie, who has managed the nursery roll for over 10 years, will finish out with the several children still under her wing, while Pam will start with our newest member, Rhys Wilson. Thank you Debbie for your service, and Pam for taking over this important ministry!

And again, we thank Karen Kress and Megan Migyanko for volunteering to lead Vacation Bible School this year. The date for VBS week has been selected as July 24-28, from 9:00am to Noon. They will be using Concordia Publishing House "God's Living Water". You can see a preview of what the program looks like at https://teachthefaith.cph.org/gods-living-water. If you are interested in helping out, please contact Karen at kkress5@gmail.com or Megan at proverbs31meg@yahoo.com. Lots of opportunities to help to bring this valuable mission back to Zion after a hiatus of 1 year.

VBS week is set for July 24-28 - please add it to your calendars!

Zion Lutheran Church
The heart and soul of our worship is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We believe God comes to us in worship to forgive our sins, strengthen our faith, and equip us for the challenges and opportunities for the week ahead. Our worship times are 8:00 and 10:30 on Sunday mornings with a Bible Study for adults and Sunday School for children of all ages at 9:30. The Lord’s Supper is celebrated at both services every week. Sunday morning worship is the highlight of the week at Zion Lutheran Church!!! We hope you will be able to join us! Each Wednesday this year (2014), we also have a 7:00 p.m. service. This service is shorter than our weekend service, in order to accommodate families with young children. If you have any questions about our worship, please e-mail or call our Pastor: pastor@zlcb.org 412-667-0967
