Shout out to Students

Pippa Carter, a 5th grade student at Washington Elementary in Mt. Lebanon, earned her Bronze Star, together with her Girl Scout Troop 71006. This is the highest award for Junior Scouts in grades 4-5. The Bronze Award recognizes Girl Scouts who demonstrate extraordinary leadership through sustainable and measurable Take Action projects that address important community needs. Pippa's Troop helped educate and remind students, parents, and the community about the school's Go-Zone rules and procedures. Washington Elementary is located adjacent to Mt. Lebanon's Uptown Business District which can result in additional safety concerns and increased traffic. The girls created informative fliers that were handed out to students, developed a series of videos on the Go-Zone location and procedures, created an updated map for use with incoming families, and designed friendly fliers to help remind residents who park illegally in the Go-Zone during school hours. Congrats Pippa!

Zion Lutheran Church
The heart and soul of our worship is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We believe God comes to us in worship to forgive our sins, strengthen our faith, and equip us for the challenges and opportunities for the week ahead. Our worship times are 8:00 and 10:30 on Sunday mornings with a Bible Study for adults and Sunday School for children of all ages at 9:30. The Lord’s Supper is celebrated at both services every week. Sunday morning worship is the highlight of the week at Zion Lutheran Church!!! We hope you will be able to join us! Each Wednesday this year (2014), we also have a 7:00 p.m. service. This service is shorter than our weekend service, in order to accommodate families with young children. If you have any questions about our worship, please e-mail or call our Pastor: pastor@zlcb.org 412-667-0967
