March 31st Deaconess Update
DEACONESS UPDATE:
Thanks be to God, our search for a Deaconess at Zion is progressing nicely! In recent weeks Zion's Call Committee has reviewed documentation from seven candidates, and from there narrowed its search down to two. Most recently, on March 20th the Committee interviewed the two candidates. Following the interviews and much discussion, the committee unanimously chose one Deaconess to whom they would like to extend a call.

Following the interviews and much discussion, the committee unanimously chose one Deaconess to whom they would like to extend a call.
On Sunday, April 28th following the 10:30 a.m. service, a Voter’s Meeting will be held during which the committee will recommend the candidate for approval by the congregation.
Please make every effort to attend this important meeting and learn more about the Deaconess candidate.
Director of Family Life
The Director of Family Life will work alongside the pastor of Zion Lutheran Church in developing and maintaining outreach programs to the local community (primarily through Zion Lutheran Preschool). The Director of Family Life will also focus upon strengthening the relationships between existing Zion members.
The overall goals of the Director of Family Life position are as follow:
Create a preschool outreach initiative.
Plan all youth programming/events.
Recruit & coordinate volunteers for programs.
Oversee ordering of resources related to events.

Art show entries will be accepted from members of Zion. We know Zion’s got talent, now let’s see it!
We’re announcing this now so you’ve got time to prepare existing artwork, or create new artwork in time for the show.This exhibit is being planned for the Fellowship Hall in November 2024. Paintings, drawings, sculptures, photography, ceramics, fiber art, art-form jewelry, and more may be submitted. It may be a current or past original works of art.

Zion Events Committee Co-Chairs Megan Pasquini and Deborah Sterba, along with the team, kicked off the new year with good fun, fellowship, and food. More than 60 members and guests came out for Zion's Bingo & Potluck Night on Friday, March 1st. It was a rousing good time with Pastor G as Bingo Caller! The lucky winners posed with their prizes at the end of the festivities. A great time was had by all!

VBS week is set for July 22nd - 26th please mark your calendars!
We thank Karen Kress for again volunteering to lead Vacation Bible School this year. The date for VBS week has been selected as July 22-26, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (time-tentative). Our program will be Concordia Publishing House's "Celebrate the Savior" VBS Promo Video.
Volunteers are needed!!! If you are interested in helping, please contact Karen at kkress5@gmail.com. There are lots of opportunities to help in hands-on roles with children, and with behind-the-scenes tasks!!
