LUTHERANS engage - Fall 2024 Issue
Lutherans Engage - Fall 2024 Issue
In February 2024, historic wildfires ravaged two communities in Chile, destroying homes and killing more than 100 people. (Read more in ‘God Is with Us in Suffering.’) As Chilean Lutherans cared for victims, one pastor noted, “On my own, I don’t have anything good to say to anybody. … [But] I realized … I could say to [the victims], ‘Through the Word of God, you are not alone.’”
This is the message Lutherans carry with them wherever they go — as they care for children who need a home, as they provide a worshiping community for isolated believers in faraway places, or as they proclaim the Gospel over the airwaves. Thank you for reading this issue of Lutherans Engage the World and for caring for those God has placed in your path.

Zion's 4th Annual Refor-Fest was held on Sunday, Oct. 28th. Guests enjoyed a traditional catered meal of pork, haluski, potato pancakes, pierogies, sauerkraut, German sausage, beer, soft drinks, cookies and more. Doug Krantz entertained diners with his accordion, and Pastor officiated his Famous Bingo with fantastic prizes! Young children decorated pumpkins, filled treat bags for the needy (who visit Jubilee Kitchen), and joined other guests at the Guessing Jars table, the Guess the Pumpkin Weight table, and Pastor's Bingo game. “Martin Luther” mingled with the crowd, and all enjoyed the celebration commemorating Luther’s posting of the 95 Theses on the Wittenberg Church door way back in 1517.
